Chapter UNO!

Chapter one of the text book "Discovering the Internet" explains pretty much the basics to what just about everyone should know about the computer and the internet and a little extra info just for the reader.  In the beginning of the chapter, the textbook explains how the internet is used by certain types of groups like college students using the internet for online classes and it's a source to find research on specific topic. Businesspeople use the internet to communicate with clients and colleagues.  The chapter also explains the history of the internet which was created in the 1960's but two event in the 1990's led in the commercial explostion of the internet.  One other key point this chapeter discusses are the methods you can use to access the internet. Things like Dial up, high speed dial up, Cable and Wi-Fi. All which are pretty familiar to anyone that owns a computer. In our house hold we have Wi-Fi because its wireless so we can use the internet on our laptops and it's "high speed". The problem we have with it is we must remain in the area that it can reach which is normally 300ft and might experiance problems from a cordless phone.  So after reading chapter one i have a clear view of the thing that i already know and learned a few things i didnt know about the internet before i read this chapter.  Now i have never blogged before so this is going to be another experience i'm am going to face to like going to college.  It should be alot of fun and hope to hear from you guys later. :)
